Obit: LOUISA PHERIGO, daughter of MARTIN and SARAH PHERIGO, was born in Illinois, October 23, 1864, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. ROLLA DEVER, near Argyle, Iowa, (March 17, 1928?). She has been in poor health since November 1927.
She was married to GRANT WILSON on July 1, 1883. To this union were born two children:
Mrs. MAGGIE J. DEVER, of Argyle, Iowa, and Mrs. OLIVE E. WISE, of Keokuk, Iowa.
Mr. WILSON's death occured on July 5, 1889. She was married to WILLIAM STARR on November 6, 1893. Mr. STARR preceded her in death on January 30, 1928.
She was one
of the oldest residents of Clark county, Mo., and a member of the Methodist
Episcopal church of Chambersburg. She was a loving mother and neighbor
and a friend to all. She leaves to mourn her loss one sister, Mrs. JOSIE
WILSON of Goulty, Oklahoma, one brother, GEO. PHERIGO, of Litchfield, Minn.,
two daughters, Mrs. OLIVE E. WISE, of Keokuk, Iowa, and Mrs. MAGGIE J. DEVER of
Argyle, Iowa; also three grandchildren: Mrs. VELMA PIERSEE and LEROY WISE, both
of Keokuk, Iowa, and FLOYD DEVER of Argyle, Iowa; two great-grandchildren,
namely, GLADYS and MILDRED PIERSEE of Keokuk, Ia; also a number of nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 20, 1928, at the M. E. church in Chambersburg , Mo., conducted by the Rev. M. B. KIOUS. Interment was in the Chambersburg cemetery.
